R438A
Ecochill R-438A is a blended hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) refrigerant designed for selected refrigeration and air conditioning applications, particularly the servicing of compatible existing R-22 systems. It is used in certain legacy installations as an alternative to R-22 where equipment compatibility and manufacturer recommendations permit. R-438A has zero ozone depletion potential (ODP), but it has a high global warming potential (GWP). Its suitability depends on system design, lubricant compatibility, operating conditions, and the requirements of the equipment manufacturer. Ecochill R-438A is intended for specialist refrigeration servicing and maintenance, subject to applicable environmental regulations and supply restrictions.

USAGE INSTRUCTIONS:
- Confirm system compatibility and obtain equipment manufacturer approval before using R-438A.
- Do not assume that R-438A is a direct drop-in replacement for R-22; assess lubricant compatibility, system components, and operating requirements.
- Charge the refrigerant in the liquid phase according to the manufacturer’s instructions to help maintain the correct blend composition.
- Do not mix R-438A with other refrigerants.
- Ensure installation, servicing, leak testing, and refrigerant recovery are performed by qualified technicians.
- Follow the equipment manufacturer’s instructions and the product Safety Data Sheet (SDS).
- Avoid releasing refrigerant into the atmosphere and follow applicable recovery and disposal requirements.
